"The people must know before they can act, and there is no educator to compare with the press.” -- Ida B. Wells, Activist & Journalist
The 2020 Uprising forced news outlets to provide prime-time coverage to confront the racial disparities and everlasting unrest that exists in our country. In the months following the summer of global protest, media zeroed in on the presidential elections, the insurrection, and the trials of a few Black people murdered by police.
While these moments were momentous and crucial to racial justice movement work, they often overshadowed other phenomenal organizing advancements and ludicrous injustices that were treated as “business per usual”.
